Christo-Celtic Wisdom for Wild Souls

“Hearth & Halo is a UK-based Christo-Celtic contemplative blog offering reflections, prayer and sacred stillness rooted in Christian mysticism, Celtic spirituality and sacred landscape in the British Isles.”

Welcome to Hearth & Halo

This is a quiet place in a noisy world.
A place of firelight and listening.
A place where the ancient Christian mystical tradition meets the living soul of the Celtic lands.

Hearth & Halo is a contemplative space shaped by prayer, landscape, silence, and story — where faith is not rushed, God is not explained away, and mystery is honoured as holy.

Here you will find reflections rooted in:

  • The wisdom of the Christian mystics

  • Celtic prayer and sacred seasons

  • The spirituality of land, weather, and place

  • The slow, healing rhythms of contemplative life

I am Jayne, a Methodist minister and lifelong pilgrim of the inward path, shaped by the hills and ancient lands of the West Country, and by a deep love for the Christ who walks quietly through all things. This space grows out of years of prayer, ministry, walking, waiting, wondering — and learning to listen beneath the noise of the world.

Hearth & Halo is offered as a shared hearth — for those who are weary of surfaces and hungry for depth, for those drawn to mystery, stillness, poetry, and the nearness of God.

You do not need to believe anything in particular to be here.
You only need to be willing to pause.

May you find warmth here.
May you find light.
May you find the gentle trace of the Holy in all things.

Blessings, Jayne
